"Alicia Sosa is a 3rd generation producer. Her family moved to La Paz with the hope of planting coffee, in search of a better life for future generations. While Alicia went off to college and graduted with a degree in Business Administration, she has been working in the coffee industry since 2017. Over the last 3 years, she has taken a leadership role in the family business in San Pedro de Tutule, La Pa.
Nowadays, Alicia is the main administrator for the family wet mill where they process their coffees as well as provide wet processing services to nearby producers. The family farm is between 1400-1500 masl, where they have planted Parainema, Icatu, IH90 and Catuai varietals, and have slowly been renovating with other varieties, like Gesha. They are aiming to produce microlots in the near future.
For Alicia, coffee is a life experience. She is motivated by how much remains for her to learn and experience around her own coffee journey, growing the business from the seeds on the farm to seeing how far it travels before people enjoy it."
