About Burundi Gaharo

This coffee tastes like Coco-Cola with a twist of lemon citrus. Real nice sweetness, balanced with soft spice, maltiness and subtle florals.

Roast Level:

Light Roast

Story Of The Bean:

This is our second year in a row buying from the Long Miles Project. The efforts that Ben and his team have made to improve the quality of coffee coming from this country is outstanding.

And this coffee from Gaharo is no exception. In fact, Gaharo is where Long Mile's story in Burundi begins. The first washing station built by them rests at the feet of Gaharo hill, on a piece of land that seemed to be long forgotten by everyone else. Every inch of it was cleared by Gaharo farmers and bricks were made from clay found in the valley below.

Gaharo farmers have become their neighbors and co-workers. They have grown, worked and developed as a community “twese hamwe”; together.
